Basketball player Jonas Aidoo pledges to Arkansas: What does Tennessee transfer mean for the Razorbacks?
Arkansas’s Fayetteville After committing to the Arkansas Rumblebacks and John Calipari on Monday, Tennessee transfer Jonas Aidoo became the team’s most decorated college basketball player.
Aidoo is ranked No. 14 in this year’s portal class, according to The Athletic. Aidoo is the first player on the Arkansas roster who isn’t related to Calipari or Kentucky, and he brings winning SEC experience with him to Fayetteville.

Last season, Aidoo was among the conference’s top defenders. The 6-foot-11 big man is strong in the pick-and-roll defense and provides excellent rim protection.

On offense, Aidoo is a menace on the low block and has the ability to make mid-range jumpers. In a pick-and-roll or while outmuscling the big man on the other side of the court in transition, he is also a skilled rim runner.
Although Aidoo won’t be the Arkansas offense’s main weapon, he will be a valuable addition who can win big games. As the cornerstone of the Hogs’ defense, he will have the greatest impact on the opposing floor.
Tennessee: Jonas Aidoo’s tenure
Over the course of his three seasons with the Volunteers, Aidoo improved, finally solidifying his starting position and being named to the first team of the SEC in 2023–2024.
Aidoo averaged 11.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game during his last season at Tennessee. Against Arkansas, he had one of his greatest games of the year, going into the game with 23 points and 12 rebounds in a 92-63 victory. In three games, Aidoo scored twenty points or more.
