Sad news: Amid an investigation into the inappropriate behaviour of Christian Horner toward his female colleague,Red Bull finds him guilty and asks for his emidate…
Red Bull has finished looking into Christian Horner, the team principal.
Red Bull GmbH, the F1 team’s parent company based in Austria, opened an investigation into Horner earlier this month after he was accused of acting inappropriately with a female colleague.
Throughout the proceedings, Horner has steadfastly refuted the accusations.
have stated that the inquiry is now complete, and the results may be announced on Tuesday or Wednesday in advance of the Bahrain Grand Prix on Saturday, which kicks off the season.
An expert lawyer conducted the inquiry, which included a February 9 interview with Horner.
Red Bull GmbH’s board will now choose the course of action to be taken, if any, and if Horner can stay on as team principle and CEO.
“Wednesday is the most likely day we could see some form of press release from the Red Bull headquarters in Salzburg,” said Craig Slater, a reporter for Sky Sports F1.
According to Slater, Red Bull’s inquiry into Horner “has been done already; it’s a very long document, reaching 150 pages, with interviews spanning 50 or 60 hours.”
Horner attended last week’s preseason testing and launch of the 2024 vehicle, the current constructors’ champion, in Bahrain.
During a news conference on February 15, Horner responded, “It’s business as usual” at Red Bull when questioned about the probe.
The Horner problem, according to Mercedes team head Toto Wolff, is “an concern for everyone of Formula 1,” while McLaren CEO Zak Brown demanded a “quick” and “transparent” resolution to the probe.
Regarding the inquiry into claims of “inappropriate behavior” made by Christian Horner, the head of the Red Bull team, an update has been given.
Horner was reportedly accused of “inappropriate, domineering behavior” earlier this month by a female coworker.
Red Bull reportedly stated, “After the firm was made aware of certain recent allegations, an independent inquiry was initiated,” according to the Dutch news source De Telegraaf.
“This process, which is now under progress, is being handled by a specialized outside attorney. The business takes these issues very seriously, and the inquiry will be finished as soon as it is feasible. Further comments would not be acceptable at this time.
Additionally, Horner has stated in the open, “I fully dispute these charges.”
It was reported last week that, in the wake of the probe, Horner is not “likely to survive at Red Bull.”
In a brief update on the issue, Craig Slater of Sky Sports stated that Horner is anticipated to attend Red Bull’s 2024 vehicle presentation on Thursday.
“He is under investigation, and he is continuing in his job,” he stated. “I’m getting the impression from Red Bull Racing that everything are running smoothly right now, so he has been in the factory for the past few days.”
“He is performing his duties as team principal and chief executive at the Silverstone circuit today, where the car is undergoing its shakedown. I also expect him to be present at the team’s car introduction on Thursday.”
“But I think the important point to make about this, as the season is coming to an end and this investigation into claims of inappropriate behavior that we understand a female staff member has made about controlling and potentially coercive behavior that Christian Horner denies, is that we have to separate what’s going on with the F1 team and the F1 schedule of events,” Slater went on.
“That will go according to its own schedule. I have been continuously stating that it may take a few weeks, or perhaps even extend into the Formula 1 season, before that inquiry is finished, and I have not heard anything to alter that possible timeline.”
The Bahrain Grand Prix in March 2024 will mark the start of the Formula One season.
