Breaking news: Blake Snell, ahead of facing his former team, the San Francisco Padres, makes ‘shocking’ admission…

San Francisco Giants

This season, former San Diego Padres ace Blake Snell is sporting new hues.

Snell will play close to his previous team while donning the orange and black of the San Francisco Giants.

Snell won’t have to wait long to see his former colleagues because the Giants play the Padres in San Diego from March 28–31 to kick off the season. Snell and Bob Melvin, the Giants manager, who joined the team last summer, will have a pleasant reunion.

Snell had been training independently to get ready for the season before he inked a contract with the Giants on Monday. But the obvious question that’s been on everyone’s mind is still…

Will Blake Snell be Ready to Start the Season on Opening Day?

Snell informed NBC Sports’ Alex Pavlovic that he won’t be prepared to play his former team on Opening Day.

Although he hasn’t faced major league batters, he has stated that he is in the 60-pitch area.

Snell continued, saying that the Giants will choose a schedule after he throws a bullpen on Thursday.

It looked less and less likely that Snell would be ready for Opening Day with each day that went by. Snell shouldn’t have too much trouble getting ready for the season, though.

This time around in San Diego, the Padres probably won’t be facing Snell, but they’ll get another opportunity to face him when they go to San Francisco for a three-game series against their division rivals just one week from now. It is an April 5-7 series.
