Sergio Perez doesn’t think a huge exodus from Red Bull will follow Adrian Newey’s resignation.
Sergio Perez is optimistic that there won’t be a mass exodus following Adrian Newey’s abrupt resignation from Red Bull.
Red Bull revealed this weekend’s Miami Grand Prix that Newey will be leaving the team in 2025.
This implies that Red Bull will lose what is perhaps the best F1 designer in history, who was crucial to their championship triumph with Max Verstappen and Sebastian Vettel in the early 2010s.
The departure of Newey has intensified rumors over Max Verstappen’s future and whether the Dutchman will now choose to join Mercedes.
Perez minimized the effect of Newey’s departure during the FIA news conference in Miami.
“I don’t believe so. He stated, “Everyone is totally dedicated to the team. Once again, this season is fantastic.
“The team appears to have a bright future. Although I believe this kind of movement is common among some people, I also believe the organization is still quite strong. In that aspect, I don’t notice any additional modifications.
Perez is unwavering in his belief that Red Bull is well-equipped to handle Newey’s departure, attributing the team’s success to Christian Horner’s efforts to “train for the next generation.”
It’s clearly not ideal, he continued. Adrian is one person who has greatly benefited both our team and our organization. Since our time together, he has also become a very good friend.
“In the end, there are moments in life… he worked for Red Bull for 20 years.” It’s reasonable that he might choose to pursue other endeavors.
Red Bull, with Pierre Wache, Rico Balbo, Ben Waterhouse, and the entire aero group, is in a wonderful spot and is a very strong organization. It’s quite powerful. All we can do is look forward to what lies ahead.
“You’ve seen in the past that these huge clubs with great players will always be successful, even if they depart.
It affects the entire organization—not just one person. Christian has done an excellent job of laying the groundwork for Red Bull’s future.
