The news that Ben Skowronek had been cut by the Los Angeles Rams was unexpected and came early on Thursday. But the decision was not formally announced, and Skowronek will really be traded rather than released.
Skowronek is reportedly being traded by the Rams to the Houston Texans. The Texans are giving the Rams very little in exchange for their picks in the sixth and seventh rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Skowronek, who is playing his fourth season in the NFL, captained the Rams’ special teams the previous season and started 11 games at wide receiver in 2022.
Jordan Whittington, who the Rams selected in the sixth round of this season, is a potential replacement for Skowronek in the passing game and as the team’s fourth or fifth receiver.
