Edmonton, Alberta – The Edmonton Oilers have re-signed forward Corey Perry to a one-year contract worth $1.4 million with extra incentives.
The 39-year-old played 38 regular season games for the Oilers after joining as a free agent on January 22. The veteran winger scored eight goals and five assists for 13 points, including his 900th career point on March 16 against Colorado, and played in his 1,300th NHL game on March 28 against Los Angeles.
Perry made his fourth trip to the Stanley Cup Final in five years, appearing in 19 playoff games, averaging 10:45 TOI and scoring one goal and two assists. His only postseason goal was the game-winning goal in Game 5.

Perry has played in 1,311 NHL games and has 429 goals and 476 assists for a total of 905 points, including a Stanley Cup victory with the Anaheim Ducks in 2007.

Period saw only 5 shots exchanged (3-2 L.A.) with Edmonton’s first not coming until almost 15 minutes in. But as the night wore on the Oilers gradually ground the Kings down, scored first and then eventually took this one over.
