Nottingham Forest have appointed ex- Wolves and Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo as their new manager.
The East Midlands club made the decision to sack Steve Cooper after a dismal run of form. Forest have won just one out of their last 13 Premier League games, leaving them 17th in the table and five points clear of the drop zone.
There were allegations that conversations had been done with Portuguese coach Nuno before to Cooper’s official resignation, and he has now been formally declared as his successor.The former Wolves manager has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at the City Ground, returning to the Premier League for the first time since an unsuccessful tenure with Tottenham.
He was selected as Jose Mourinho’s permanent successor in north London in the summer of 2021 and had a promising start, but a drastic downturn in form saw him fired after just four months in charge.
