Paula Badosa and tennis prodigy Stefanos Tsitsipas have announced their split.
Following nearly a year of dating, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa have formally called it quits.
After spending about a year together, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa have formally called it quits. The tennis players first hinted at their connection in June of last year. However, on Sunday, former world No. 2 Badosa announced that they had mutually agreed to call it quits.
When “Tsitsidosa” got public for the first time 11 months ago, it completely changed the tennis world. Before formally announcing their romance to the world and proving it, they teased it with mutually exclusive Spotify playlists and selfies.
Since then, they have been seen in each other’s player boxes at games, and before Badosa’s ailments got in the way, they had intended to play mixed doubles together. But the Spaniard revealed their breakup on Instagram, signaling the end of their romance.
The 26-year-old stated, “After great consideration and many precious moments together, Stefanos and I have chosen to part ways amicably.” “After a voyage full of love and wisdom, we have decided to go on our separate paths as friends with the utmost respect for one another.”

As they worked through their breakup, the three-time title winner also requested privacy, saying, “We are grateful for the support of our friends, family, and everyone who has been part of our narrative.” We continue to wish each other the very best in all of our endeavors as we begin this new chapter of our lives.
“We appreciate your compassion and regard, and we respectfully request your privacy during this time.” The only source of information on their breakup, aside from Badosa’s Instagram account, is Tsitsipas’s lack of public comments.
Only a few days have passed since their early eliminations from the Madrid Open. Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, a fellow countrywoman, defeated Badosa in the opening round despite her ongoing medical struggles. In an attempt to prolong her playing days, the current world No. 101 disclosed that she had turned to cortisone shots. She now hopes to squeeze an additional three to four years out of her career.
In the meantime, qualifier Thiago Monteiro shocked Tsitsipas in his debut encounter on Saturday. After winning the Monte-Carlo Masters for the third time and making it to the Barcelona Open final, world No. 7 had a fantastic start to the clay season. However, he was unable to carry over his triumph to the Madrid Open.
Tsitsipas and Badosa first dated during the clay season of the previous year. The Greek player acknowledged that their connection began when he sent Badosa a congratulations message on her victory over Ons Jabeur at the Italian Open.
