FRENCH OPEN: AFTER OVERCOMING STEFANOS TSITSIPAS IN A FILTHY CLASH, CARLOS ALCARAZ RUISES THROUGH TO THE SEMI-FINALS
Carlos Alcaraz defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets to get to the French Open semifinals for the second time in his career. Alcaraz, who is aiming to win the French Open for the first time, defeated Tsitsipas with ease to increase his head-to-head record against the Greek to 6-0. Tsitsipas’s performance in Paris was far from his best.
Carlos Alcaraz defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas with ease, 6-3, 7-6(3), 6-4, to advance to the French Open semifinals for the second year running.
In a game that hardly tested Alcaraz, Tsitsipas was made to regret several costly mistakes.
The Italian defeated Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets earlier in the day, and now the world No. 3 will face Jannik Sinner in the semifinals.
In his on-court interview, Alcaraz stated, “I played terrific; it was a really good match.”
“I managed my emotions on the court, but there were ups and downs in my playing. When it was necessary, I was incredibly composed.I’m pretty pleased with how I played and handled things. I’m overjoyed to be participating in this Roland-Garros semi-final.”
Regarding his much-awaited matchup with Sinner, he stated: “It’s an extremely challenging task. He is, in my opinion, the greatest player in the world at the moment and is playing the greatest tennis.Regarding him, what can I say? We’ve played excellent games both before and after this quarterfinal in 2022. We’ve performed at a high level.”His presence on the tour at this level makes me happy because he inspires me to improve and give it my all each and every day.
