Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas, a tennis pair, announce their separation and “amicably part ways”
Paula Badosa announced to her followers on social media that she was divorcing Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas.
After opting to “amicably part ways,” tennis players Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas called it quits on their romance. After Badosa and his ex-boyfriend Juan Betancourt broke up, the two reunited.
Last year, Badosa and Tsitsipas formally announced their relationship following the French Open. It was common to witness them supporting one another from the stands.
Known to supporters as Tsitsidosa, the pair competed in mixed doubles in the Eisenhower Cup. Badosa informed her followers on her Instagram story on Sunday, May 5, about her breakup with Tsitsipas.
In addition to asking for privacy, the Spaniard seemed upbeat about starting a “new chapter of our lives.”
Tsitsipas recently lost to Thiago Monteiro of Brazil in the Madrid Open Round of 64, sending him packing.
The Greek sensation placed second in Barcelona and won the Monte Carlo Masters. Now, he’ll be trying to give her the greatest possible start at the French Open.
In contrast, Badosa has struggled as a result of injuries. Jessica Bouzas Maneiro defeated Badosa in the opening round of the Madrid Open, sending her down to the No. 101 spot in the world rankings for women’s singles.
