Former Lightning Forward Becoming a Canucks Superstar
This season, with the Canucks, this former Lightning forward has elevated his game to a new level.
J.T. Miller was dealt by the Tampa Bay Lightning to the Vancouver Canucks during the 2019 NHL offseason. Though it was a necessary move since the Lightning needed cap space, they do miss him.
For the Canucks, Miller is starting to establish himself as a genuine superstar, and this season is the greatest of his career.
With the Canucks in 2023–24, Miller, 30, is thriving. In his first 53 games, he has scored 23 goals, 69 points, and a plus-22 rating. His career highs of 32 goals and 99 points will be surpassed if he keeps up this rate of productivity.
Apart from the offensive, though, his development into a superb leader has been a major factor in the Canucks’ remarkable turnaround this year.
As a result, he has positively impacted both special-team units and proven to be a formidable physical presence, as evidenced by his 131 hits.
Miller has also been incredibly important to the Canucks this season; his performance against the Washington Capitals last night is only the most recent illustration of this.
Miller intercepted a pass from Connor McMichael in the attacking zone and scored the overtime winner with just five seconds remaining on the clock using a wonderfully timed snap shot.
Even though Miller played for the Lightning for two years, he was a very good player, but after joining the Canucks, he shot to stardom. But this season, he’s making even more progress and solidifying his status as a true superstar.
Miller has 65 points and scored 23 goals in 94 games for the Bolts. He has 368 points and 129 goals in 336 games with the Canucks.
