After just becoming the youngest player in Toronto Blue Jays history to reach 500 career RBIs, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been suspended.
The 25-year-old accomplished the feat with an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning during Saturday’s 7-2 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.
After Carlos Delgado’s 714 games, he accomplished the milestone in 806 career games, which is the second-fastest pace in franchise history.
“That’s a blessing,” Guerrero said following the triumph for Hazel Mae of Sportsnet.
“I try to help my team win every time,” he continued. I strive to do it for the people, the city, and my team.”
Guerrero has had an amazing season at the plate, slashing.320/.394/.545 in 146 games while adding 28 home runs, 41 doubles, and 96 RBIs.
When asked if the 2024 season had been his best to date, Guerrero said, “I’m not done yet.”
