ATLANTA (AP) On Friday night, Immanuel Quickley led the Toronto Raptors to victory over the Atlanta Hawks 123-121, their second straight victory since the All-Star break. Quickley finished with 24 points and six 3-pointers.

For Toronto, Scottie Barnes added ten assists and twenty points. With 12 points, 13 rebounds, and 6 assists, Jacob Poeltl led the way.

With 24 points, Dejounte Murray led Atlanta. Adding 22 points was De’Andre Hunter.

Murray went out of bounds on a dribble hand-off from Bogdan Bogdanovic with 18 seconds remaining, putting the Hawks behind 121-118. Bruce Brown’s breakaway slam with 11 seconds remaining gave the Raptors the victory.

Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic remarked, “I really like this bunch because they are together, even though it is just two games.” “They are having a great time competing and hanging out together.”

Hawks All-Star Trae Young was restricted to 11 points on 4-for-13 shooting, down from his season-high 34.3 point average in the three prior games versus the Raptors. He contributed seven assists.

Rajakovic remarked, “We did a really nice job on Trae Young overall, not letting him score or get to his positions.”

The Raptors made three more three-pointers and shot 49% from the field compared to the Hawks’ 43%, but the Hawks were still able to win the game despite having a 54-47 rebounding edge and a 24-8 free throw lead.

With 4:25 left in the second quarter, Hawks coach Quin Snyder was disqualified for coming onto the court after it seemed like Young had injured his right thigh while battling through a screen that Poeltl had created. Young managed to stay in the game despite landing on one leg and going down for a minute. Young and Hunter were both given technical fouls in the first half in addition to Snyder’s double technical.

Snyder expressed concern about Trae’s knee. “I think I earned the technical. I had an emotional response.

In their first game before the All-Star break, the Hawks had a chilly start, missing 13 straight shots after taking a 2-0 lead. Before Murray’s layup to snap the skid, the Raptors led 15-2. In the first quarter, the Hawks shot 30% from the field, making 1 of 9 3-pointers and missing five free throws.

Due to a left knee injury, Raptors guard R.J. Barrett missed the second night of back-to-back games for the team.Ahead of the Toronto Raptors’ Jordan Nwora (13) passing the ball after tripping over Atlanta Hawks’ Trae Young on Friday, February 23, 2024, in Atlanta, during the first half of an NBA basketball game.Jason Allen/Associated Press
