The Raiders’ nightmare fuel is Daniel Jeremiah’s most recent mock draft.
With the 13th overall pick heading into the 2024 NFL Draft cycle, the Las Vegas Raiders are a dark horse to finish anywhere in the top 10. Who knows what they’ll do with the pick, given the dire need at quarterback as well as along the offensive and defensive lines and in the secondary?
Daniel Jeremiah released his most recent 2024 NFL mock draft over at NFL.com, and the Raiders could be in danger if the first round goes as planned. In this mock, Terrion Arnold of Alabama is selected by Las Vegas after four of the top quarterbacks have already left.
Even though Arnold is regarded as one of the top cornerbacks in this year’s draft class, the departures of Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, and JJ McCarthy in the top-10 will surprise those seeking a QB change.
If that’s the case, the two best quarterbacks left would be Michael Penix Jr. and Spencer Rattler, who might be acquired on Day 2.
On the first day of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Raiders are looking for a QB.
It appears that the Raiders will target a quarterback on the first day of the 2024 NFL Draft, but how much they can trade up to choose one will ultimately determine their options.
It would take a lot of draft capital spread over several years to move up ten positions and acquire one of the most likely top three players, but can they really afford to wait at No. 13?
It’s unclear if Aidan O’Connell will start at quarterback going forward, so Tom Telesco, the new general manager, will have to make a big decision this offseason. Although some in Raider Nation would be disappointed if the team chose to stick with O’Connell, it would enable the team to strengthen the roster around him.
