The 0-4 Jaguars are melting down despite starting the season with championship aspirations. Jeremy Fowler of ESPN suggested on Thursday that Jacksonville could start listening to offers with another loss, opening the door for Philadelphia to poach 2022 first-round LB Devin Lloyd.

A versatile player with strong coverage chops and excellent tackling skills, Lloyd would be a logical fit in the Eagles’ scheme and immediately become one of their top defenders.

Eagles Could Soon Target Jaguars LB Devin Lloyd With Trade

“Another loss or two could leave the 0-4 Jaguars trading away players,” Fowler wrote. “This roster is not barren. I could see teams inquiring on rookie-scale talent, such as linebacker Devin Lloyd.”

While he missed Week 4 with an injury and has been limited at practice, Lloyd should soon return to the field. He notched 127 tackles in 2023 with seven deflected passes and two fumble recoveries in only 15 games, showcasing the impressive athleticism that made him a highly-coveted prospect.

“I’m not saying Jacksonville wants to move marquee players,” Fowler continued. “But we’ve seen this script before when a team implodes.”

With head coach Doug Pederson on the NFL’s hottest seat and the Eagles in need of impactful defenders, a trade would make sense for both sides. Philadelphia’s linebackers haven’t met preseason expectations thus far and as a whole, the defense ranks 30th in opponent yards per play (6.0).

Eagles fans should watch closely as the Jaguars face the Colts in Week 5. Howie Roseman has never been shy about making a big move and Lloyd could be the missing ingredient this team needs.
