The Tractor Boys’ star says he wants to stay at the club after securing promotion to the Premier League.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Omari Hutchinson will talk about his future with Chelsea after a productive loan stint in the Championship with Ipswich Town. The 20-year-old forward was named the club’s Young Player of the Year and assisted in the Tractor Boys’ promotion to the Premier League this season.

This week, Hutchinson made his way back to Cobham after making 50 appearances for Ipswich this season, tallying 11 goals and six assists. Although other European teams are keeping an eye on the forward’s circumstances, the recently promoted team is eager to retain the youthful player for their Premier League comeback.

Chelsea Could Keep Hutchinson and Loan Him Out

Romano speculates in his Daily Briefing that Hutchinson may soon be the subject of another loan agreement:

For example, Omari Hutchinson will be fascinating to watch given his impressive play while on loan at Ipswich Town.

“Omari’s camp and Chelsea are going to meet to talk about his future. Teams in the Bundesliga, Premier League, and Eredivisie are eager to sign him on a temporary basis.

“I hear that Chelsea wants him to play regularly, and Ipswich also hopes to keep him, so another loan solution for next season is the most likely.”

Hutchinson left the Arsenal academy and joined Chelsea in 2021. Against Manchester City in the FA Cup Third Round last year, he earned his senior debut for the Blues by substituting in. In a 0-1 loss to Man City last year, the 20-year-old also made his Premier League debut, playing 22 minutes.

When Hutchinson must choose between playing for Jamaica or England, the competition is getting hotter on the international front as well. Hutchinson is reportedly eager to play in the Copa America next month, according to Jamaica.

Chelsea would have to think about signing an extension if they were to loan the gifted winger out the next season because his contract just has one year left on it. The Blues anticipate Hutchinson to play significant minutes next season, as Romano indicated, therefore it doesn’t seem likely that he will play for Chelsea.

Chelsea may attempt to change their approach and add more seasoned players to the team during the upcoming transfer window. Mauricio Pochettino now leads a youthful group that has shown moments of inexperience and immaturity this season.

Ipswich Keen to Sign Hutchinson

It has been challenging for recently promoted teams to survive in the Premier League over the last two seasons, and Ipswich’s prospects may depend on their ability to retain its star players. The club may strike another loan agreement with Chelsea since they want to retain Hutchinson for the upcoming campaign, according to recent sources.

After sending the Tractor Boys back to the top division for the first time in 22 years, Hutchinson stated to Sky last week that he plans to remain at Ipswich for the upcoming season.
