Don’t belittle 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy. It is absolutely no explanation why he receives so…

Stop picking on the 49ers’ QB, Brock Purdy. He takes so much heat for ‘absolutely no reason’

Critics have called Purdy a game manager, but he isn’t worthy of the moniker. Since coming here, he has only played at the highest caliber. He is the center of everything, says teammate Christian McCaffrey.

California’s Santa Clara The crucial ball was really overthrown by Brock Purdy, which set up Brandon Aiyuk for the incredible 51-yard reception that sealed the stunning comeback that propelled the San Francisco 49ers to yet another Super Bowl. But the highly-analyzed quarterback’s legs generated just as much talk as the NFC title game victory did during the celebration.

How sick this 49ers tight end is George Kittle started his evaluation.

During a wild comeback from a 17-point deficit, Purdy pulled off two desperate scrambles, both for 21 yards and both ending in scores.

Not in the traditional meaning of the word, anyway. When his squad needed the chains moved the most, this man saw an opening and sprinted for his life, sliding, not sliding. The 49er faithful could then release their collective breath at Levi’s Stadium.

It was textbook Purdy in that way. Instead of attempting to imitate the shape, just observe it and know that it succeeded in fulfilling its immediate goal.

Kittle went on, Do it more, remembering his inner monologue as Purdy produced a last-minute delivery. Just avoid getting struck. Break apart. Consider tucking the ball a bit quicker. He is a con artist. That, in my opinion, perfectly captures the essence of it.

Have you ever watched a small water dragon sprint across the surface of the water? stated Kittle. Every time I see him racing with the football, that’s what I picture.

Just a short while ago, Guy McIntyre, the former guard for the 49ers who blocked Super Bowl heroes Joe Montana and Steve Young, stood outside the locker room and expressed his admiration for Purdy and shook his head.

Recall the run Steve Young made in the Vikings game? McIntyre mentioned a stunning, winding 49-yard play that won the game in 1988, in which Young staggered across the goal line. He made me think of that.

How appropriate. Purdy has the opportunity to become the first 49ers quarterback to win a Super Bowl since Young, and his journey has led to comparisons with the player who scored six touchdown passes to finish off an MVP campaign in a decisive Super Bowl XXIX victory.

By now, he should be accustomed to it. Purdy plays quarterback for the 49ers. There’s a criterion for a franchise that has five Lombardi Trophies. Fair enough, the all-time great quarterbacks are a great source of reference material.

To be sure, Purdy has accomplished enough to establish his reputation rather than live up to the myths. As the ultimate rags-to-riches tale in the NFL, he led the 49ers to the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs and set franchise records with 4,280 passing yards and a league-best passer rating of 113.0.

If you haven’t heard (yeah, right), the Iowa State product was selected as the final player in the 2022 draft, earning the moniker Mr. Irrelevant, which is currently a running joke in the NFL’s scouting department. Questions over his arm strength and athleticism were among the jabs that prevented him from being drafted until the very end.

Now look at him. In his second season, he’s heading to the Super Bowl, where he’ll have the opportunity to upstage Patrick Mahomes in the biggest game of his life, having sweated it out with comeback wins in the 49ers’ two playoff victories.

The 25-year-old Purdy, an Iowa State starter for four years, said, I think it’s a testimonial to God, where he’s taken me in life. I’ve never been the strongest, largest, or fastest. It seems like I’ve always had to struggle and fight for what I want.

Without hesitation, Purdy cited his spiritual basis as the one that has supported him through his most difficult moments. He stated that his faith helped him cope with being passed over for the draft. He talked to God on Sunday night at halftime, behind by 17 points.

He answered, That’s the honest truth. I gave that some leaning. As promised, we managed to return.

Undoubtedly, skeptics continue. Though Purdy is one of only four quarterbacks in NFL history to win four playoff games in his first two seasons, others have criticized him for his lack of skill as a game manager, arguing that he is only a byproduct of cunning coach Kyle Shanahan’s scheme. Undoubtedly, he is surrounded by an abundance of skill, such as Christian McCaffrey, the running back who is most likely to win NFL Offensive Player of the Year, Kittle, Aiyuk, and Deebo Samuel.

According to Trent Williams, a 14-year veteran left tackle, Brock has always done what we needed him to do for us to win, USA TODAY Sports said. He can perform all tasks, including sitting there and tossing the ball in the face of a 300-pound lineman rushing into him, bootlegging to reach the edge, and sitting there on third-and-10, dicing people up.

Williams laughs at the clamor about Purdy’s impossibility.

Williams remarked, I know he doesn’t get a lot of credit. Many people may easily pick on him because he’s low-hanging fruit, but he’s been making plays all year.

However, Purdy appeared to be prepared for more criticism as the 49ers managed to escape losing to the Green Bay Packers in the NFC divisional game. The offense faltered, and he had trouble throwing the damp football. Nevertheless, he performed admirably when it mattered most, hitting six out of seven throws and stumbling for a nine-yard gain on the 12-play, 69-yard touchdown play that won the game.

He hit on his release last weekend and threw an early interception. Then came the 49ers’ comeback in the second half, during which he scored on five straight possessions.

For you, that’s a game manager. A winning game manager whose winning style gels so perfectly with his co-stars.

On Sunday night, McCaffrey stated, I don’t have enough positive things to say about Brock. Since coming here, he has only played at a very high level. He is the first of all. He’s a lucky quarterback for us. He receives a lot of criticism for no apparent reason.
