Jannik Sinner climbs close to Novak Djokovic in our latest ATP power rankings

Power Arrangements. an essential component in most sports.an alternative to simply glancing at the rankings to determine which teams or individuals are the best.

Since tennis hasn’t had these rankings in a long enough time, we at Lob and Smash have determined it’s time to give the top 10 ATP Tour players a closer look. Some of the elements that will be taken into account are surface, form, and history.

These are our ATP top 10 rankings after an exciting Australian Open. (As I distribute the power rankings, I also provide the player’s name and the current ATP ranking.)

Tenth place in the ATP power ranking is.

1. ATP #1 Novak Djokovic

It’s true that he didn’t defend his Australian Open title, but I believe it would be a stretch to say that the 23-time Grand Slam champion isn’t the best player in the game today. Along with winning the year-end championships, the Serb emerged victorious in three Grand Slams last year and is the most feared name in any draw.

Although Djokovic’s life has been difficult lately due to an Italian, we’ll need to see a little more of that before we jump to any conclusions. Regardless of what transpires in Melbourne, Djokovic is our number one for the time being. When Carlos Alcaraz defeated him at Wimbledon, many predicted that a new era would begin. However, Djokovic responded angrily and silenced his naysayers.

2. ATP 4: Jannik Sinner

Someone should be given serious consideration if they can defeat Djokovic three times in a few months. It’s difficult to avoid being regarded as the greatest player alive when you combine that with your first Grand Slam victory.

After winning the Australian Open, Jannik Sinner has gained a lot of attention. Although it remains to be seen if he can continue to play at this level all year, it is reasonable to suggest that he is the second-best player on the ATP tour.

3. ATP 3 Daniil Medvedev

Seeing Medvedev come so close to winning the Australian Open was painful. However, the Russian’s mental toughness was demonstrated when he battled his way to the championship match via several five-set thrillers, and it will only benefit him going forward. The fact that Medvedev finished second in the last two hard-court slams, in Melbourne and New York, has only strengthened his reputation as one of the best hard-court players. In 2024, he will be a strong favorite to win more titles on the surface.

4. Alcaraz Carlos (ATP 2)

Carlos Alcaraz’s ranking of number four may seem harsh, but the fact that there are three players who are better than him at the top of the men’s tennis rankings speaks volumes about their caliber. Alcaraz had a lackluster end to 2023 following his semifinal loss to Medvedev at the US Open. He also performed poorly in his quarterfinal loss to Alexander Zverev in Australia.

But it’s a risky game to underestimate the young Spaniard. You wouldn’t be shocked if he returned from his trip to South America with a few more trophies under his belt after competing in clay court matches in Rio and Buenos Aires.

5. ATP 6 player Alexander Zverev

The Germans are having success on the court. He finally lost to Daniil Medvedev in Melbourne, one set short of his second Grand Slam final. With Germany, he won the United Cup, capping off an incredible start to the year. Zverev appears to be returning to form following his terrible injury at the 2022 French Open, and he might be a serious threat this year.

6. ATP 5: Andrey Rublev

Rublev is a consistent challenger who is easily in the top ten. The Russian’s primary concern is whether or not that is all he is. Rublev’s startling 0-10 record in Slam quarterfinals makes it extremely tough to support him for any significant success in the foreseeable future. Despite this, he is still a threat because he won a championship in Hong Kong this year and will undoubtedly be a factor in all ATP events in 2024.

7. ATP 8: Hubert Hurkacz

The big-serving Pole finished 2023 with a bang and has also enjoyed a decent start to 2024. Although he lost to Medvedev in a five-set Australian Open quarterfinal, he is undoubtedly a player who appears to be rising on the ATP tour.

8. ATP 9: Taylor Fritz

Fritz, who has been to the quarterfinals in the last two majors, is undoubtedly capable of handling pressure. Fritz’s performance at the Australian Open was not a reflection of embarrassment, and going into the part of the season where the American excels, things seem to be improving.

9. ATP 11 player Alex De Minaur

Things are going very well when you have victories over Fritz, Zverev, and Djokovic in a season that isn’t even a month old. De Minaur may not be able to go up further on this ranking because all three of those victories came at the relatively recent United Cup, but he has shown that he is capable of competing with the best.

10. ATP 10 Stefanos Tsitsipas

Things haven’t gone well for the Greeks lately, and they could drop out of the world’s top ten for the first time in five years. He can still compete at a high level on his day, which pretty much keeps him in both my and the ATP’s top ten. A fourth-round exit in Melbourne was a major setback.
