Potential Steal TE Prospect Snabbed by Chargers in Latest CBS Mock Draft
Next week, the Los Angeles Chargers will be prepared to add some genuine quality to their roster when they participate in the NFL Draft. With nine picks in the draft, they have several opportunities to select a few players.
Tight ends are one area where Los Angeles has to improve on the offensive end of the ball. Even though they did sign Hayden Hurst as a free agent, this squad probably won’t want to use him in the long run.
Accordingly, it’s possible that the Bolts will try to select a tight end in the middle or later rounds of the draft.
TCU tight end Jared Wiley was selected by the Bolts in a recent CBS mock draft by Josh Edwards. Wiley gave the Chargers a better look at himself at a meeting earlier in the draft process.
If he ends up with the right team, he might be one of this draft’s steals. Connecting him with the elite quarterback Justin Herbert might allow Wiley show off his explosive side.
Wiley recorded 47 receptions for 520 yards and eight touchdowns during his final season with the Horned Frogs. He has the opportunity to seriously hurt teams in the league, and the Bolts might be the ideal fit for him.
They need a tight end who can do more than fill in for Herbert, and Wiley may provide that assurance. If it were to happen, this would be a good starting point for both parties.
