The Buffalo Bills lost their game against the Houston Texans on Sunday and in large part it was because bad coaching. They were fortunate to have only lost the game and not their quarterback, despite Josh Allen was treated for an apparent delicate injury.
To many, he should have gone into concussion protocol following a big hit. Experts have started to talk about the risk that the signal caller took in something that it has been compared to what Tua Tagovailoa suffered.
“It’s insane that Josh Allen was sent back in after this hit. Even if he swears he’s alright, why bet the franchise QB that #concussion symptoms aren’t delayed?,” Dr. Chris Nowiski wrote regarding the topic, on a social post. “Protocol aside, how are we taking risks like this just a few weeks after another Tua concussion?”
Many bad decisions
The image is quite obvious, it was a strong hit and fears on what he could have been sidelined, even after being evaluated relatively quickly by team physicians on the field and after coming off. He returned to the game shortly later.
He seemed normal but it is widely known that many indications of any problem that could emerge after a concussion may surface hours later. That was a head scratcher on the coaches’ behalf, but it was not the only one.
The Bills had the ball inside their own 5-yard line with a few seconds left and instead of running the ball safely, they passed three straight times and they were all incomplete. They punted and the Texans were already in field goal range, as they would later win the game on a kick.
