The world’s fastest man, Noah Lyles, and his partner, Junelle Bromfield, acknowledged that their relationship was not a romantic one.

In an audio recording that has surfaced again from the “Fast Lane Lifestyle” podcast, they discussed why their first encounter in 2018 “didn’t connect at all” between them.
“After our first date, I thought, ‘Well, let’s just be friends,'” Bromfield recalled, adding that she had flown into Miami from Jamaica to have dinner with her future partner.
Lyles interjected, saying, “I drive to pick her up.” I’m thrilled. I acquired my [at the time] all-white Beamer. I pick her up silently from the airport.
“No chat, no words,” he continued.
According to Bromfield, she was “a little nervous” when they first met.
“I talk a lot, but I have to feel comfortable before I start taking,” she stated. In response, Lyles made a lighthearted remark, “A little?” I heard whispering.
He said, “I took her out to Red Lobster and gave her her first taste of cheddar bay biscuits.” I’m giving her a nice meal.
But he clarified that they “simply didn’t click” and decided to stay friends.
A few years later, they reconnected during a night out at the Running Grand, and things quickly became hot again.
In the end, they decided to make their relationship official in 2022, and this week marks their second anniversary.
In the past, Lyles revealed to Us Weekly that Bromfield lived with his family in the US and that they trained together.
After Lyles won the gold medal in the 100-meter sprint on Sunday at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, their connection has come under scrutiny.
After winning the fiercely contested race by just 0.005 of a second in a time of 9.79, he hurried over to Bromfield.
Kishane Thompson of Jamaica, who won silver, was narrowly defeated by Lyles, and fellow American Fred Kerley came in third.
