AC Milan defeated Napoli 1-0 in the San Siro thanks to a spectacular finish from Theo.
Last night at the San Siro, AC Milan took on Napoli, the reigning champions, while the Rossoneri unveiled their fourth uniform of the year. Similar to the previous year, when Stefano Pioli’s team narrowly prevailed, the shirt turned out to be auspicious.
Theo Hernandez stole the show with his spectacular goal and solid defensive performance. The French left-back had a clear run on goal and a fantastic exchange with Rafael Leao to score in the 25th minute. He still had to tuck away from a close angle, but he did so brilliantly to give Milan the lead.
The Rossoneri had a chance to capitalize and score again in the first half, but Napoli’s relentless push in the second half changed the momentum. Milan was fortunate to escape the onslaught, as the ball hit the woodwork and needed to be blocked multiple times to stay out of the goal.
Pioli and Milan secured a decisive three points, allowing the team some breathing room for the next two weeks.
