BREAKING NEWS:West Brom is set to announce three top players departures due to…….

The Baggies see quite a few players’ contracts expire in 2024, but they could cash in on some others.

  • Gaining a spot in the Premier League would increase West Brom’s spending power on players.
  • The team’s forward group may be strengthened by selling players like Karlan Grant.
  • In order to prevent losing players like Josh Griffiths and Semi Ajayi for free when their contracts expire, they have been sold.
  • At this point, the recruitment team of West Bromwich Albion will be preparing for life in both the Premier League and the Championship. The Baggies have a chance to secure promotion now that they are in the promotion mix, which would alter their spending capacity.

They might decide which players to target for a summer window based on it as well.

Albion will need to make more money in order to stay within the EFL’s financial constraints if  wishes to spend a significant sum of money during his first window in charge and the team stays in the second division.

However, there are some first-teamers that the Baggies may want to sell regardless of which league they are in – and we have listed these players below.

Grant is currently on loan at Cardiff City; given that he has previously been connected to a move outside of the Midlands, his brief departure to the Welsh capital is not surprising.

The contracts of a number of Albion players expire this summer, but the striker’s deal is extended until 2026.

Penning a six-year contract on his arrival in 2020, Albion will have to keep paying the ex-Huddersfield Town man’s wages unless they loan him out again or find a buyer.

For the sake of all parties, a sale may be ideal, especially for West Brom who could use these funds to strengthen their forward department.

With Daryl Dike recently sustaining another serious injury, that money could be especially useful.

Grant’s scoring record hasn’t been impressive this season though, so it will be interesting to see how much they can generate from his sale. His respectable scoring record in the past may help him to earn a move.

Griffiths had previously appeared destined to establish a regular starting position at The Hawthorns after a string of strong EFL loan stints.

Regretfully, the 22-year-old’s career has not exactly gone as planned; as of this writing, he has only made three appearances across all competitions, with none of those coming in the league.

Given that Alex Palmer is superior to him in the hierarchy and that Crystal Palace is connected to

Albion may decide it is time to approve the keeper’s departure after making a move for him last month.

Additionally, the Baggies may be able to lessen the possibility of losing him for nothing by selling him in the summer before his contract expires in 2025.

Under Carlos Corberan, Ajayi continues to play a role in the first team.

He has not started consistently since October, though, and that may have created concerns about the Nigerian’s future.

If Corberan is unable to give the 30-year-old the game time he wants to start regularly next season, it might be best for both the player and the team to sell.

The central defender’s contract expires in 2025, so this summer might be the last opportunity the team has to raise money before he leaves on a free transfer.
