Wrexham

In English League Two Game Week 27, MK Dons will host Wrexham at Stadium MK. Wrexham hopes to win the League for the third time in a row. When ninety minutes have passed, who will win?

MK Dons were demoted to League One after placing 21st in the previous campaign. They are currently, nevertheless, a possibility to return to the third division in the 2024–2025 season. After 32 league games—16 wins, 6 draws, and 10 losses—they now have 54 points, good for fifth place, four points behind third-place Wrexham. In addition, the squad leads eighth-place AFC Wimbledon by seven points, which puts them in a strong position to make the playoffs. Although MK Dons’ next game against Wrexham will be a difficult test, they have recently been playing well, winning four of their past six League Two games. The squad has also performed well at home this season, winning 10 of its 16 games and accruing 33 points.

While MK Dons have performed admirably at home, Wrexham has struggled away from home, managing just 20 points from its 15 away games this season. After rising from the National League the previous season, Wrexham is looking for back-to-back promotions. They have been resilient in surviving a difficult time recently. Early in February, Phil Parkinson’s team lost three of its four games in the league as it fell to Salford City, Blackburn Rovers, Newport County, and Bradford City in quick succession. Wrexham, however, bounced back, winning their last two league games against Sutton United and Notts County to take third place in the standings, two points behind leaders Stockport County and two behind second-place Mansfield Town, despite Stockport County’s recent struggles. Wrexham’s past meetings with MK Dons have ended in losses; the most recent was a 5-3 setback in the 2023–24 League Two season opener.

Predicting Tuesday night is difficult when you consider Wrexham’s away performance and MK Dons’ impressive home performance. Although any side can win, we believe that because both teams are so good, the result will probably be a draw. Both managers would likely be happy with this outcome before to kickoff.
