Good News: Alabama football now set for actions as two offensive coordinators are hired

In terms of new hires, the Alabama football team’s offseason has been quite active. The Crimson Tide needed a new coach after head coach Nick Saban announced his retirement at the end of the season. After Alabama acquired Kalen DeBoer from the Washington football team, the Crimson Tide have taken care of business with the appointment of an offensive coordinator.

To assist in directing the offense, Alabama has added two interesting players. Nick Sheridan and JaMarcus Shephard will be joining the Crimson Tide. Shephard will serve as the wide receivers coach, associate head coach, and co-offensive coordinator, while Sheridan will serve as the official offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer stated, “We are thrilled to have Nick and JaMarcus join us at Alabama. They are both outstanding coaches,” according to a rolltide.com article. They understand our goals on that side of the football field and have familiarity with our offense. At every stage of their careers, they have proved themselves to be outstanding instructors and recruiters, bringing a great deal of passion and energy to their work.

Kalen DeBoer has already worked with both of these instructors. From 2022 to 2023, JaMarcus Shephard worked as an assistant head coach and wide receiver coach for the Washington Huskies.

As the tight ends coach at Washington last season, Nick Sheridan was also a member of the staff. Along with DeBoer, he worked as the offensive coordinator for the Hoosiers for two years. DeBoer and Alabama will benefit from having players that the head coach is accustomed to.

Sheridan remarked, “Joining Coach DeBoer at Alabama is an incredible opportunity.” “I’m excited to collaborate with this offensive staff to create a weekly strategy that will position our squad for victory. I recognize the significance of maintaining Alabama’s unrivaled tradition while helping our players progress.
