Mavs Head Coach Jason Kidd Says, “You Gotta Fail to Be Successful,” Following Another Disappointing Loss
Head coach Jason Kidd is out of options after the Dallas Mavericks dropped their fourth game in five tries on Sunday against the undermanned Philadelphia 76ers.
The Dallas Mavericks have struggled recently, losing four of their last five games with Western Conference postseason status on the line after going on a season-high seven-game winning streak.
The most recent defeat occurred on Sunday afternoon against the Philadelphia 76ers without Joel Embiid.
The Mavs had a great 11-0 start to the game, but they were unable to maintain that momentum and fell 120-116 to finish 34-27 and remain in eighth place in the West.
Even though Dallas won the fourth quarter 40–30, it was too little, too late.Leading the way, Luka Doncic finished with 38 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists for his third straight triple-double.
Kyrie Irving contributed with 28 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Regretfully, though, the night’s 11 turnovers by both stars combined.
“You consider yourself to be desperate, knowing there is no margin for error. Following the defeat, Mavs head coach Jason Kidd stated, “I thought the guys played at a high level in the fourth quarter.”
“Defensively, we executed a lot of our plans after the fourth, and when we did, everything worked out as we had anticipated.
As previously stated, offensively, we are the better of both offense and defense. We are among the top teams in this league when we score. We’re among the worst teams when we don’t score.
We usually do nothing on the defensive end when we are having trouble scoring and instead look for other ways to get points. Even though we’re attractive, they’re not falling in love with us.
We scored forty points in the fourth quarter, which was one of our better defensive parts of the game.”
The Mavs’ main (and most reasonable) justification for their inadequacies over the majority of this season has been their infirmity.
Despite the fact that the squad is fully healthy again, Kidd believes he and his coaching staff will need some time to adjust as they determine the most effective rotations.
“You have to get into a routine with staying healthy and realize that guys are returning.” We’re still aiming for victory and are considering several lineups,” Kidd remarked.
“We have two new members. Our goal is to acclimate them to the schemes. We must keep tackling that because there will eventually be a breakdown.
Talking is the one activity that we want to see more of in our group. We are unable to text each other while using our phones outside. We are unable to use Twitter or Instagram while playing.
To support one another, we must be able to communicate with one another. It was at its lowest this afternoon. We need to improve our communication skills, be ready to accept criticism, and look forward to the future.
