Football Insider has been informed by sources that Ben Johnson will be moving from West Ham and should be announced within the next 48 hours after passing an Ipswich Town physical.

The recently promoted Premier League team was reportedly in advanced talks to sign the right-back this summer on a free agent, as Football Insider first reported on June 25.

The 24-year-old is without a contract with West Ham and has turned down several offers of extensions, including one that was better this month.

According to sources, Johnson is about to sign a four-year contract at Portman Road after clearing an Ipswich medical.

Johnson had been with West Ham for the previous 17 years, therefore, the team was eager to retain his services.

The former England youth international has played in midfield and all four back positions in 109 club appearances since rising through the ranks.
