Kliff Kingsbury has withdrawn from consideration and is no longer exploring the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Raiders of Las Vegas may need to find a new offensive coordinator following the breakdown of their negotiations with Kliff Kingsbury.
Erik Burkhardt, Kingsbury’s agent, reportedly told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that his client has withdrawn from contention for the position.
According to Schefter, Kingsbury may join the Washington Commanders as their offensive coordinator after turning down the Raiders.
According to insiders, former Cardinals offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury, who was on the verge of taking over as the Raiders offensive coordinator, is a top contender to take over as the Commanders offensive coordinator.
Apart from Kingsbury, the Raiders also spoke with former offensive coordinator Luke Getsy of the Chicago Bears, Dan Pitcher of the Cincinnati Bengals, Mike Sullivan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Alex Van Pelt, the former offensive coordinator of the Cleveland Browns.
The New England Patriots made Alex Van Pelt’s offensive coordinator appointment official on Thursday.
Pitcher and Sullivan are still with other clubs, but on January 10th, the Chicago Bears fired Getsy.
The Raiders finished the 2023 season ranked 23rd in scoring, averaging 19.5 points, and 27th in yards per game, at 289.5.
