Breaking: Air Noland announces departure from Ohio after Julian Sayin’s addition as…

The addition of Julian Sayin gives Ohio State two freshman five-star quarterbacks on the football roster for 2024

A standout recruit of Ohio State’s 2024 class was Air Noland, a five-star quarterback who committed to Ryan Day and the Buckeyes. But there have been rumors that Noland would eventually go for the transfer portal after five-star Alabama transfer Julian Sayin was unexpectedly added to the depth chart.

His dedication to Ohio State doesn’t seem to be wavering at this time.

Noland told The Columbus Dispatch, “We’re excited to have him a part of the brotherhood,” following Sayin’s Ohio State commitment. “He will definitely make the QB room better than what it is now.”

Does this mean that Noland will remain a member of the Buckeye team? Pete Nakos, an expert for the On3 Sports transfer portal, has conjectured that the quarterback will welcome the challenge.

“I definitely think that Air Noland strikes me as the kind of guy who is going to stay in Columbus and fight for that job next to Julian Sayin,” he stated. “We’ll see how everything kind of falls after that.”

Although signing two five-star quarterbacks in the same offseason is rare in college football, the transfer portal and NIL rules make it less likely that a team will be able to hold onto both players for very long should another opportunity arise or another school show interest.

However, Sayin and Noland may be encouraged by the Buckeyes’ present quarterback position to remain with the team through this season and into the following spring.

Veteran’s Day Transfer In 2024, Will Howard is expected to start at quarterback for Ohio State; behind him on the depth chart are Lincoln Kienholz and Devin Brown.

Furthermore, should everything proceed as planned, Sayin and Noland might face off for the starting QB position in 2025.

When calculating the average of all the major recruiting agencies, Noland was ranked as the fifth quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class and as the 41st talent overall.
