The team of Philippe Clement had to leave Ibrox because of the continuous delays with the Copland Road Stand construction.

Rangers are almost certain to seal an agreement that will see them move to Hampden come opening day.

The Gers chiefs are in a hurry to find a temporary new residence because of the continuous delays in the renovations being done on the Copland Road Stand at Ibrox. They had discussed playing at Murrayfield or Hampden with the leaders of the SRU and SFA, but they will have to play their games at a different location until at least the month of August.

The preferred option has always been Scotland’s national stadium in Mount Florida, and talks are reportedly at a more advanced level as chairman John Bennett prepares to officially seal the deal in the coming days. Bennett has drawn criticism from Gers supporters who, with less than a month till the Premiership kickoff, are unaware of where they will be witnessing their club play.

Now, when Rangers make the announcement that they would be shifting their home games to Hampden for the first few weeks of the season, it is anticipated that Bennett will address supporters through the team’s official channels.

August might see five home games for Philippe Clement’s team, which would include two Premiership matches against Motherwell and Ross County, two European qualifiers, and possibly a Premier Sports Cup last-16 encounter. Either a Champions League qualifier on August 6–7 or Well’s visit on August 10 will be their debut game at Hampden.
