Surprising: The Wonderful Experience of a Ballkid on Carlos Alvaraz at the 2024 Australian Open.

In a recently posted video, an Australian Open ballkid recapped her experiences from this year’s competition. Her two favorite moments from the competition, according to her, were getting struck by a Carlos Alcaraz ace and making it through the longest tiebreaker ever.

The young girl reminisced about her favorite matches from this year, including Taylor Fritz vs. Stefanos Tsitsipas, Elena Rybakina vs. Anna Blinkova, Emil Ruusuvuori vs. Daniil Medvedev, and Alexander Zverev vs. Carlos Alcaraz, in a video that was uploaded on Tiktok.

The longest tiebreak in Grand Slam singles history was witnessed by her at the competition, as Anna Blinkova defeated Elena Rybakina 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (20). The ballplayer further disclosed that during Alexander Zverev’s 6-1, 6-3, 6-7(2), 6-4 victory over the Spaniard in the quarterfinal round, she was struck in the leg by a 209 km/h ace hit by Carlos Alcaraz.

The ballerina went on to say that she had gotten fluff for Stefanos Tsitstipas during the match against Taylor Fritz in the fourth round and that she had not given it any thought until it was seen on television.

Carlos Alcaraz was devastated by his QF loss at the Australian Open in 2024.

Carlos Alcaraz lost to Alexander Zverev 1-6, 3-6, 7-6(2), 4-6, and was eliminated from the Australian Open quarterfinals in 2024.

With a 3-5 lead in the third set, the Spaniard was looking at a straight-sets loss. To stay in the match, Alcaraz, though, stepped up to break Zverev’s serve.

The 20-year-old easily prevailed in the tiebreaker to secure a spot in the semifinal. But at 4–4, he had his serve broken in the fourth set, which gave Zverev the opportunity to serve it out and secure his semifinal spot.

Alcaraz was pleased with his play during the competition, which included making it to the quarterfinals.

“It has been a wonderful event for me; I made it to the quarterfinals, played well, and served fairly well, but not as well as I had before this match. Thus, all things considered, I’m glad to have finished the competition,” Alcaraz remarked.

The 20-year-old continued by admitting that he did not play at his best in the quarterfinal and called the way he began and ended the game “sad.”

However, as I previously stated, given my playing level, I entered this match feeling quite confident and aware of my ability to play terrific tennis. It’s unfortunate that I began and ended the match in the same ways. It’s tennis, though,” the 20-year-old continued.
